CALL FOR PAPERS: The Educational Forum   The Educational Forum, Kappa Delta Pi's premier educational research journal, is seeking articles for its upcoming Fall 2012 themed issue on "New Literacies" and its relationship to teaching, learning and other major educational dimensions.  The Educational Forum is an international, peer-reviewed journal whose mission is to "publish compelling research findings and thought-provoking perspectives as a catalyst for stimulating and encouraging research and dialogue and for advancing and transforming education."   The Educational Forum is seeking original empirical research and conceptual essays that address the ways in which contemporary understandings of "New Literacies" are enacted in educational settings from pre-K to adult learning.  In the two decades since the term "new literacies"1i first appeared in an academic journal, reflecting a changing concept of how we think about teaching, learning and skills required for successful academic achievement, how much has changed and in what ways?  This themed issue looks broadly at how technologic and other contemporary developments in the most recent generation of educational history have (or have not) influenced the work, lives and thinking of teachers, students and others involved in education.  Papers that address the reciprocal relationship of "New Literacies" to classroom practices are of particular interest.   For full and specific instructions to authors, including page lengths and formats, please visit the journal's Instructions for Authors page, just click here.   The submission deadline is March 23, 2012.   For more information on The Educational Forum, please visit the journal's webpage: www.tandfonline.com/UTEF        iSee Buckingham, D. FW: Special Issue on Land Education - Oct 31 deadline

Call For Proposals, Special issue in Environmental Education Research on "Land Education: Indigenous, postcolonial, and decolonizing perspectives on place and environmental education research."  Co-edited by Kate McCoy, Eve Tuck, and Marcia McKenzie. 

Proposals for manuscripts to contribute to this special issue should address the educational, environmental, methodological, and theoretical importance of settler colonialism, and use the findings of original research to deepen, extend, and expand the complexity of conceptualizations of place and land in environmental education research. Authors will also address implications for teaching, learning, educational and/or environmental practice, policy and research.
